Buffalo Tom's Beef Tamale Pie

1 pound lean ground beef

1/2 cup chopped onion / 2 tablespoons oil

1 can (15 ounces) diced tomatoes

1 teaspoons chili powder

3 oz of Buffalo Tom's Gourmet Hot Sauce

1 teaspoon salt / 2 cups water

3/4 cup corn meal / 1 teaspoon salt

 

Preparation

In a heavy skillet, brown ground beef with onion in the

vegetable oil. Add tomatoes, chili powder, Buffalo Tom's

Gourmet Hot Sauce, and 1 teaspoon salt; cover and simmer

 for 25 minutes, adding more water if necessary. In a

medium saucepan, bring 2 cups water to a boil; add corn

meal. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture is thickened.

 Add 1 teaspoon salt. Spread half of the cornmeal mixture in

 bottom of greased 1 1/2-quart casserole. Add beef mixture.

 Top with remaining cornmeal mixture. Bake at 350° for 35

 to 40 minutes.
